Organizing tasks is done with greater efficiency when using special software, but only if you are using the same computer. If you have to work on a different computer, your time management software, as well as your personal settings and database, will not be at your disposal. TimeGT will help you manage your tasks by placing them in different categories, according to their importance. The most important part about the application is the possibility of synchronizing your created tasks between multiple machines.

There are two installation packages available. The first one is 58 Mb large and it will install the application swiftly, on Windows XP, Vista or Win 7. If you opt for the second package, you will not have to install the program. It is a 27 Mb archive and you just need to extract its contents and run an .exe file. TimeGT is a multiplatform application, which means that you can also run it on Linux and Mac OS X and this is made possible by the smaller package.

The interface and its functions are simple. Unlike other similar software, TimeGT does not have any large menus, with countless options to go through. You may create projects and manage their tasks, just like organizing files and folders in Windows Explorer. A project is essentially a folder, which can be created on the left side of the interface. Its tasks are listed in the central region, where you may create new ones as well.

A task is created by typing its name in the appropriate field and hitting the Enter key. It will appear as a new entry in the tasks list and you will be able to add a start and end date, as well as notes and tags, by typing these details beneath the list. You can set tasks as completed, in progress, important or urgent by clicking one of the icons, next to their entries. Additionally, the software lets you categorize them under separate tabs, with simple click and drag actions. The available categories will reflect the fact that your task is on a possibilities list, in progress, that you are waiting for something to complete it or that you have completed the task.

Tags are listed on the right side of the interface and they will help you filter your tasks. You can also use the software's search function to find a task almost instantly. The most interesting part about TimeGT is the fact that it is capable of synchronizing your projects and tasks. In this regard, the software resembles DropBox a bit. Before launching the application, you will have to create an online account and use the same credentials to log onto TimeGT's interface. After defining your projects, you just have to click the synchronization option, in the upper right corner of the interface. This will save your projects on your online account. If you run the application on a different computer, you can use the same synchronization option to acquire your projects immediately. Furthermore, TimeGT works on multiple operating systems and you don't have to install it, so you can manage your projects mostly anywhere, on any machine.

Pros

TimeGT is much easier to use and understand than other tasks organizers. There are no complex options to go through, but you can still organize your tasks efficiently, by placing them in various categories. The best aspect of the software is the synchronization feature, which allows you to back up your projects and make them available on other machines.

Cons

The synchronization feature is available only in the Pro version, which is not free. TimeGT makes it possible to organize the same projects, on different machines, with different operating systems. The available tools are simple, allowing you to work with maximum efficiency and minimum effort.
